Who We are

Our Sadochok

At Our School, our team is a diverse group of passionate educators and staff, all committed to nurturing young minds and providing a supportive learning environment. With a collective mission to inspire and empower our students, our team members bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and enthusiasm to their roles.

Our History

St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Sadochok was first established by the sponsorship of the St. Josaphat’s Cathedral, Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League of Canada, Branch 2. In the latter part of 1989, the newly formed branch of UCWLC Br. 2 at St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral felt inspired to create a preschool program for the growing new families that attended the parish.

In under four months, the late Anna Sirman spearheaded the creation of the new Sadochok. The basement library of the Cathedral was transformed into a bright and cheerful, learning and play environment. Government Licensing regulations, teacher interviews, toy shopping and recruiting children were just some of the many requirements the new executive committed to.
St. Josaphat’s Sadochok opened its doors to its first graduating class of 14 students in January 1990.

St. Josaphat’s Sadochok has kept its doors open for over 30 years!
Although the physical location of the Sadochok has moved from the Cathedral basement to a rental space within St. Matthew Catholic Elementary, the vision and purpose of its once humble beginnings has blossomed into a preschool that averages 45 students every year.
