About our School

The aim of Sadochok is to offer preschool children, of any background, Ukrainian Catholic culture and a play-oriented program, in order to:

St. Josaphat’s Sadochok strives to promote a strong Ukrainian Catholic cultural foundation, thus enriching the Canadian cultural mosaic. These goals are fostered by providing the child with:

  • Stimulating material and activities (examples: arts and crafts, puzzles, books, music, blocks),
  • Ukrainian language instruction in the form of stories, songs, dramatizations, games and Teacher directives,
  • Free play to select activities that reflect the child’s individual needs, interests and development level,
  • A clean, safe, organized and attractive facility,
  • In-house presentations and special events, and
  • An involved commitment from the Ukrainian Catholic clergy and parishes of the Edmonton area.

Meet our Team

At Our School, our team is a diverse group of passionate educators and staff, all committed to nurturing young minds and providing a supportive learning environment. With a collective mission to inspire and empower our students, our team members bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and enthusiasm to their roles.

Pani Lyudmyla

Preschool

Pani Lyudmyla has been our Sadochok Teacher since 2006. Born in Ukraine, she graduated from the  State Pedagogical University and worked in Ukraine as a teacher for 22 years. After immigrating to Canada in 2003 with her husband and two children, she soon became part of St. Matthew’s Sadochok family overseeing 3,4 year olds class.  She loves teaching children, talking with them, and helping them grow as individuals. Her job is her hobby, that brings a lot of joy in her life.

Pani Mariya

Preschool

Pani Mariya has joined our Sadochok family in October, 2017, taking over the toddler program. She has extensive teaching experience, and was also a school Vice Principal in Ukraine. We are delighted to have pani Mariya with us and look forward to working with her this year.

Our goal at Sadochok is to provide an educationally, culturally, socially and spiritually rich environment. We offer an opportunity to play, learn and socialize within a Ukrainian community. Sadochok promotes Ukrainian cultural traditions, Christian ethics, Canadian civic awareness with strong emphasis on character development.
